The Role

You will be tasked with the design, configure, manage and support the core network and CPE devices, including provisioning and support of services along with the ongoing development of the network in terms of growth and network functionality.

Duties will include project management for both WAN infrastructure, Data Centre and complex end user installations. Monitoring and managing other members of the team to ensure project are delivered on time and budget.

Good working knowledge and experience of the following are critical: BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VPLS, VRRP, Vlans, STP, LAG, IPV4 & IPV6, QoS Policies, Internet routing protocol, TCP/UDP, VPN configuration, Experience of RIPE is essential; knowledge of other internet registries is desirable e.g. Apnic Arin.

The role sits within our company’s group structure, reporting directly to the COO.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and manage a new network connecting a number of regional networks together to offer as Layer 2 and Layer 3
• Managing, monitoring and expanding network
• Provide technical expertise to understand requirements and translate to design and implementation
• Participate and lead technical workshops and training both internally and with the client
• Provide direction to Sales force on design
• Evaluate new technologies and platforms to determine their applicability to solving our Customers. business challenges and needs
• Technical implementation of design solutions where required
• Maintenance of RIPE entries

Required

• Familiar with service provider environment
• Experience of BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VPLS, VRRP, Vlans, IPv4 and IPV6
• Experience of routing, switching and IP addressing
• Basic unix/linux administration and knowledge of Bind, Radius, Tacacs
• Understanding diagnostic tools: Ping, Traceroute, Tcpdump, wireshark, Nagios
• Knowledge of Databases, PHP MySQL/SQL
• Familiarity with Firewalls and Content Filtering Management

Desirable

• Extensive knowledge of Microsoft mainstream Product set
• Cisco, HP, Juniper and Mikrotik experience
